get involved in a variety of ways

As a family member of an ASU student you are automatically a member of the SDFA. The SDFA is an organization that encourages involvement! Whether you are an in-state parent or out-of-state-parent, the SDFA makes it easy for all family members to stay connected with their student's university experience.

There are many ways to get involved. ASU families can attend events and meet other families of ASU students. These events provide networking opportunities and information about university resources. PLUMs (parents of alums) are also active members of the SDFA and are available to share their experiences and expertise with incoming ASU families.

Families can also get involved by joining a parent involvement group or attending nationwide coffee days where they can hear from speakers from various departments across the campuses. Volunteering is also a great way to learn about the university and assist in major university events such as such as Fall Welcome, Family Weekend, Homecoming, new student orientations and other social events.
